Dr. Warda Ashraf

Associate Professor

Dr. Warda Ashraf is an Associate Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Texas-Arlington. She received her Ph.D. from Purdue University in 2017. She received the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Director’s Award in 2022, the DARPA Young Faculty Award in 2020, and Purdue’s College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Research Award in 2017.

Her research interest includes the durability performances of concrete, multiscale characterization, and the development of sustainable infrastructure materials. She has authored more than 50 peer-reviewed research articles and inventor of four patents to date. Dr. Ashraf received competitive research funding from several federal and state agencies, including the National Science Foundation (NSF), DARPA, the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT), and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA). She has secured over $8.8 million research funding, including $4.1 million as the Principal investigator (PI).
